Oils - Landscape and Seascape
New oil paintings inspired by my watercolour sketchbook work in Venice, the Outer Hebrides, the New Forest and the South Downs. Watercolours are translucent and ideally the application of paint to paper needs to be confident and right first time and then you must leave it alone and stop messing with it! With oils, however, it is possible to keep working on top and, as I am never happy with my paintings, I keep adding brush strokes here or there - sometimes even after they are framed - until they are sold!
